How to use the Rotate PDF tool

  1. Select a PDF or drop it onto the box. A preview of every page appears.
  2. Click ↺ or ↻ under a page to turn it 90°, or use Rotate all for the whole document.
  3. Click Save rotated PDF. The new file keeps the rotation in every PDF reader.

Fix sideways and upside-down pages

Few things are as annoying as a PDF where every other page is on its side. It usually happens when:

  • A document scanner feeds pages in different directions.
  • A phone scanning app guesses the orientation wrong.
  • A document mixes portrait and landscape pages, such as a report with wide tables.
  • A file is exported from another program with the wrong page setup.

Your PDF reader may let you rotate the view, but that change disappears when you close the file or send it to someone else. This tool changes the pages themselves.

Rotate single pages or everything

Use the buttons under each page preview to turn individual pages; the preview shows the result immediately. If the entire document is the wrong way round, Rotate all left or Rotate all right turns every page at once. Click twice to turn pages upside down (180°).

Frequently asked questions

Why are some pages in my PDF sideways?

Scanners and phone scanning apps often save landscape pages, or pages fed in the wrong way, with the wrong orientation. Rotating fixes the page itself, not just your view of it.

Is the rotation permanent?

Yes. Rotating in a PDF viewer usually only changes the view for you, but this tool saves the new orientation into the file, so everyone who opens it sees the pages the right way up.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Each page has its own rotate buttons. Only the pages you turn are changed.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Only the page's orientation setting changes. Text, images and links stay exactly as they were.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

No. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then rotate the unprotected copy.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Previews and rotation both happen in your browser.
