How to use the PDF to JPG tool
- Select a PDF or drop it onto the box. Conversion starts straight away.
- Pick JPG for small files or PNG for the sharpest text, and a resolution: Screen, Standard or Print.
- Each page appears as an image as soon as it is ready.
- Download single pages, or click Download all as ZIP.
Why turn a PDF into images?
PDFs are great for documents but awkward in many places where images work instantly:
- Social media and messaging apps show images inline but make people download PDFs.
- Presentations and documents: drop a page from a report or a chart straight into slides.
- Websites and forms that only accept JPG or PNG uploads, such as a certificate or a page of an ID document.
- Quick previews: an image of a page opens on any phone without a PDF app.
Resolution explained
PDF pages are measured in inches, so the image size depends on the resolution (dots per inch):
| Setting | A4 / Letter page becomes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Screen, 72 dpi | about 600 × 840 px | Phones, social media, previews |
| Standard, 150 dpi | about 1240 × 1750 px | Most uses, slides, sharing |
| Print, 300 dpi | about 2480 × 3510 px | Printing, zooming, OCR |
Higher resolution means sharper text but bigger files. If an upload form has a size limit, convert at Standard, then run the image through Compress Image to 20KB or Compress Image.
Privacy
Statements, contracts and ID documents are common PDFs to convert, and they should not be uploaded to unknown servers. This converter runs entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Which resolution should I choose?
Screen (72 dpi) is enough for viewing on a phone or posting online. Standard (150 dpi) suits most uses including presentations. Print (300 dpi) gives crisp text for printing or zooming in, but files are larger.
JPG or PNG?
JPG gives much smaller files and is ideal for pages with photos. PNG keeps text and line drawings perfectly sharp and is better for documents, charts and diagrams.
Can I convert only one page?
Every page is converted, and you can download just the ones you need. If you want a PDF with fewer pages instead, use the Split PDF tool.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scanned pages are already images inside the PDF, and they are saved at the resolution you choose.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
No. Open it in your PDF reader with the password and save an unprotected copy first.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Pages are rendered by your browser using Mozilla's open-source PDF.js engine, the same one Firefox uses to show PDFs. Nothing leaves your device.
